Maratha Reservation Protests: Shivba organization chief Manoj Jarange-Patil on Saturday (February 24) intensified the ongoing movement for Maratha reservation by blocking roads in Jalna, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Solapur and other parts of the state. On the call of Jarange-Patil, a large number of Marathas sat on major roads including the Mumbai-Nagpur Samriddhi Expressway and blocked the traffic from 10.30 am.
Ensuring that there is no inconvenience to students going to appear for the HSC board exams, the activists held banners, posters and raised slogans against the state government and demanded complete Maratha reservation. Jarange-Patil called upon his supporters to maintain peace, refrain from violence and make video recordings of the road jam movement as evidence. Police have been deployed since morning at the places where the Rasta-Roko movement is going on.
Maratha community got angry
The protest by the Maratha community on the Mumbai-Nagpur Samriddhi Expressway in Jalanya was foiled within five minutes. Maratha community protested on Samriddhi Expressway in Keligavan Shivara of Badnapur taluka. This angered the protesting Maratha community.
Police took 50 Maratha protesters into custody
A clash broke out between Maratha protesters and police at Badnapur police station in Jalna district. Police took into custody 50 Maratha protesters who blocked the road on Sambhajinagar Highway. At this time, when these Maratha protesters were brought to the police station, there was a clash between the protesters and the police while taking them inside. Due to this, an atmosphere of tension can be seen at present.
Maratha protesters argue with police
A blockade protest has started in Latur city on behalf of Maratha protesters. During the protest, Maratha protesters had an argument with the police to free the stuck cars. The Maratha protesters who clashed with the police were taken into custody by the police. The Superintendent of Police’s car remained stuck in the Chakka Jam movement.
